David T. K. Wong is one of Hong Kong’s most distinguished writers. Although he did not pursue a writing career until after his retirement, his short stories quickly found acceptance in many countries and have received much praise from critics:
“Different continents, different lives, Daving Wong bring both together in this elegant and illuminating collections.
– Fay Weldon, British novelist
“David Wong’s stories transcend the divides of race, culture and locality to illuminate a range of human conditions. Some real gems.”
– Pam Fraser Solomon, Senior Producer, BBC Radio Drama
“David Wong’s short stories celebrate the versatility of the form – and the diversity of his characters’ destinies. He knows all about contemporary patterns of violence and oppression but still contrives to find room to manoeuvre, room for ironic detachment and stubborn, private daydreams.”
– Lorna Sage, Literary critic and Professor of English Literature, University of East Anglia
